Why?
The main purpose of this website is to gather in one place all available information regarding Icelandic Bridge Cancel. This website is also available for collectors to display theirs collection. The focus will be on Icelandic bridge cancels.
Why some can ask, is the page not in Icelandic, that’s because of a respect for foreign stamp collectors that have made Iceland as part of their collections. Hopefully all collectors of Icelandic bridge cancel will contact and share their experience in this field. The owner and author of this website is a member of the Philatelic associations here in Iceland and after wandering around the philatelic world for few years the focus went on collecting Icelandic Bridge Cancel.
How to use this website?
You will find fundamental books for collecting bridge cancels on this site. Under “The collection” all bridge cancels that are in the Facit cataloge will be listed and information when they where used. Brian Flack has given his permission to display his county collection and there are almost all post and collecting offices in Iceland are listed, old photos and valuable knowledge from our postal history. Then you have access to The Iceland Philatelic Magazine that is packed with all kind of information’s. Then the plan is to have some discussions and news related to what is happening in the Icelandic Philatelic World. Hopefully there will also some deep dives into some interesting subjects.
